User Guide -- Starting the Application

In Windows (easy way):-TOP-

1. Go to the location where you have downloaded "p2pbazaar.jar" and double-click the "p2pbazaar.jar" file to start the program. This will start the P2PBAZAAR software login window. If this does not work, try the "DOS comand line" method below.
2. Enter your user name and password.
3. Select the "Just Browsing" check box if you do not want people to search your listings.
4. Click on the "Connect" button.

In Windows using the DOS command line (harder way):-TOP-

1. Start a new DOS command prompt window.
2. Change the directory to where you downloaded P2PBAZAAR (for example "chdir c:\p2pbazaar").
3. Type the command "java -jar p2pbazaar.jar" and hit return. This will open a DOS box which you can minimize and ignore, but don't close. This will also start the P2PBAZAAR software login window.
4. Enter your user name and password.
5. Select the "Just Browsing" check box if you do not want people to search your listings.
6. Click on the "Connect" button.

In Unix using the command line:-TOP-

1. Change the directory to where you downloaded P2PBAZAAR (for example "cd /home/john/p2pbazaar").
2. Type the command "java -jar p2pbazaar.jar" and hit return.
3. Enter your user name and password. Select the "Just Browsing" check box if you do not want people to search your listings.
4. Click on the "Connect" button.

On the Sharp Zaurus SL 5500:-TOP-

1. Select the P2PBazaar icon under the Applications tab
2. Enter your user name and password. Select the "Just Browsing" check box if you do not want people to search your listings.
3. Click on the "Connect" button.

The best way to get started is to just jump right in and get acquainted. P2PBAZAAR allows users in the P2PBAZAAR community to list and search items for sale/auction right from their hard drive. For this reason, you must keep your computer running at all times if you want your listing to be active for searching by others. Once you turn off your computer, your listing becomes inactive for searching until you power on and launch the P2PBAZAAR software.
